The cookery competition moves on to the south western heats, and as it is judge John Burton Race s home region, he has high hopes for the standard of dishes. First up there are two Italian-style starters with West Country influences, as haddock and chorizo risotto takes on pork tortellini. Two lamb curries battle it out in the mains kitchen, while pudding sees variations on two classic dishes as an orange Bakewell tart competes with a Victoria sponge with ricotta.
